Plane of Operations

1. According to the plan or operation (outline of command) of the Latif Master Foundation, efforts will be made for the social and economic development of all classes of young men and women in this Bagerhat district. Proper measures will be taken to reduce the number of unemployed in Bagerhat district.

2. The Latif Master Foundation will conduct various social, economic, and developmental programs in the Bagerhat district. These programs will be carried out with the help of the local public, donations/grants from domestic and foreign individuals, donations by philanthropists, donations/grants from government/private institutions, seasonal contributions, and income from various organization programs.

3. Necessary and effective programs will be implemented to assist the neglected, financially distressed, and underprivileged. Still, meritorious students in the foundation’s area are provided with scholarships and various incentives to pursue higher education and engage them in the country’s and people’s welfare.

4. Necessary activities will be undertaken to improve the quality of education by establishing schools, colleges, and madrassas in different places within the foundation area alongside government activities.

5. To build a superstition-free society by religiously awakening the general public, activities will be taken to construct mosques, mosque-based libraries, orphanages, and madrassas and to manage these.

6. Necessary programs will involve the poor, financially distressed, and underprivileged population under the foundation’s purview in various income-generating activities such as fish farming, poultry, and dairy farming to improve their socio-economic development.

7. Necessary programs will be undertaken to ensure healthcare for pregnant women, children, and the elderly. Furthermore, children’s physical and mental development will be promoted through child education programs and various entertainment programs for children. Population control programs and child vaccination programs will be gradually introduced.

8. Awareness programs will be conducted to preserve the environmental balance, encourage the public to plant trees and adopt nursery and afforestation programs as income-generating activities.

9. Programs will be undertaken to provide hands-on vocational training to unemployed but semi-educated youths in different trades and, upon completing the training, provide financial assistance to make them self-reliant. Additionally, programs will be taken to establish and deliver necessary training centers for unemployed youth in computer and technical education.

10. Welfare programs related to public welfare will be formulated for the benefit of children, youth, and women.

11. To ensure the general public’s healthcare on a large scale, with domestic and foreign aid and cooperation, charitable hospitals, clinics, or hospitals will be established and operated in different areas in phases.

12. Various awareness and public awareness programs will be conducted to raise people’s awareness of the dowry issue and legal matters related to dowry, and a social movement against dowry will be started to involve the general public in it.

13. Programs will be developed to ensure potable water, proper sanitation, and a healthy environment in the foundation’s area, engaging the public in these programs for implementation.

14. Various anti-drug awareness programs will be undertaken to protect the youth, especially from the devastating grasp of drugs, making the public alert and vigilant against them.

15. Emergency, mid-term, and long-term programs will be undertaken in response to various natural disasters affecting the general public in the foundation’s area.

16. Necessary programs will be undertaken to make people with disabilities self-reliant by providing necessary financial, technical assistance, and vocational training.

17. Awareness programs will be undertaken for drivers and passengers to protect them from road accidents. Additionally, necessary driving training centers will be established alongside government activities to create skilled and trained drivers.

18. Necessary programs will be undertaken to engage children, teenagers, and young men and women in cultural, sports, literary, or any other fields, nurturing their talents and abilities and preventing them from being misguided.

Brief Profile of Late Md. Latifor Rahman (Latif Master)

The late Mr. Md. Latifor Rahman, a resident of Baishragati village in Bishnupur Union under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila, was a teacher at Kandapara Government Primary School in Gotapara Union. He passed away on July 13, 2018.

Mr. Md. Latifor Rahman spent his entire life teaching and prioritizing the distribution of education and knowledge. For this reason, he was popularly known among the general public as the Latif Master of Baishragati. During his lifetime, his children initiated an education scheme called the Latif Master Education Scholarship in 2003. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided annually to poor, underprivileged, but meritorious students in various areas of Bagerhat district.

Students from the Bagerhat district studying in various educational institutions, from Dhaka University to primary schools, have benefitted from, are benefitting from, and will continue to benefit from the Latif Master Education Scholarship on a larger scale.

After Mr. Latif Master’s death, to keep his industrious life, pursuits, and memories alive and ensure the peace of his departed soul, his worthy successors, and close associates took the initiative to establish a voluntary, non-political, exceptional, social, and public welfare-oriented, charitable, and ideal institution in his name, the Latif Master Foundation.

The core principles of this foundation are education, peace, discipline, and self-reliance. Based on these four core principles and upholding religious values, the foundation has been established with the spontaneous and direct financial support of the founder members (Annex-B), well-wishers, and relatives of Mr. Latif Master. The foundation aims to assist the poor, underprivileged, and financially distressed populations in various areas of Bagerhat district with financial assistance, guidance, and timely education, thereby contributing to the country’s welfare and self-reliance.

The decisions/opinions of the founder members will be given the utmost importance in all aspects of running the foundation and implementing its activities.
